7/20/14 News for AACRC Faith & Food Garden Friends

Garden Helpers

•   We thank the Okonkwos for tending the garden last week.   Barb & Goddy worked hard to salvage many of the rocks from the excavation site to put around the garden.  It looks very nice.  We thank them for making our garden even more beautiful!                   

•   The Reiminks will tend the garden this week.

Harvesting

This last week 2 lbs of produce were delivered to Food Gatherers!  Barb removed all the peas so the squash would receive more sun.  It is true that not all the tomatoes are doing well.  That happens.  Not all batches produced by the nurseries stay on par with one another.  Our garden received compost, as in the past years.  

That's a running total of: 13.42 lbs 

NOTE:  If you find you harvest from the garden at the end of the week and are unable to deliver the food to Food Gatherers, please refrigerate the food and take it to Food Gatherers the following week, or get in touch with the next person and arrange something with them.  Please do not leave a note in my mailbox, as I may not get the note in a timely manner and I do not want to be a middle person or delivery person.  Thanks for understanding.
