Thank You: We thank Darren De Zeeuw for connecting a short hose to the spigot and attaching a shut-off valve for our use. The new water shut-off is now located in the outer corner of the raised bed, in front of the church, by the stairs.  The new railing was just too high for many to climb over and it became a dangerous maneuver for many.  Thanks, Darren!

Garden Helpers 

• The Okonkwos tended the garden two weeks ago and the Reiminks last week.
• The Okonkwos delivered 5# of peas to Food Gathers.
• The Reiminks delivered 3# of peas to Food Gathers.
• This week, M. Izerman and her friend will tend the garden.  Marian, if the peas have browned out and are not producing, they may be pulled and placed in the composting/yard waste container.  Thanks.

Food Gatherers: pounds delivered

• So far, 16# of produce has been delivered to Food Gatherers. 
• Reminder: If you pick food from our garden and are unable to deliver it to Food Gatherers because they are closed, refrigerate the food and take it in the next day they are open.  Each person is responsible for taking the food they gather to Food Gatherers.  Thank you.

New & Old News

1. Faith and Food Garden Sign:  I did not receive any responses from the Faith & Food group,so I spoke to Larry Gruppen, who works with wood, and he agreed to take a look at our sign.  He suggested we remove the polyurethane and replace it with stain or paint.  I deferred to his judgement and asked that he choose the easiest to maintain.  Thank you Larry for agreeing to refurbish the garden sign.
2. Garden Gate Door: Something is chewing away at the wood where the top and bottom sections meet.  It is noticeable when you open the door and look at the end.  I watched for a bit, but did not see any ants or bees coming and going.  Please keep an eye on this and notify me if you discover who are the intruders.  Thanks!

•  Please turn the water on and off at the extension, near the corner of the raised bed, by the stairs.
